Homewood Health and Safety Day

The inaugural Homewood Health & Safety Day at Homewood's Central Park is coming up on Saturday, June 11th! This event will feature the Homewood Fire and Police departments, Jefferson County EMA, American Red Cross, and our very own Safe and Healthy Homewood Coalition, among many others. Parents ~ if your child(ren) are in Mrs. Flinkow's Social Studies class, please be looking for the following items to come home today: a purple course selection guide (abbreviated), a white course selection form that your child filled out in class today, and a bright blue flyer regarding Parent Night @ HHS Monday night at 6p. If your child (ren) are in Mr. Whitehead or Mrs. Maddox's Social Studies class, please look for these items to come home on Friday.

Social Media for Parents ~ January 14th

ALL IN MOUNTAIN BROOK is pleased to present SafeSmartSocial.com <http://safesmartsocial.com/> founder and national speaker, Josh Ochs, who will address social media safety and our youth. Topics include how social media can be used by our young people in positive and healthy ways such as impressing colleges and future employers. 

What: A social media safety talk detailing the latest apps and digital tools available to youth.

Who: Parents of our students, youth ministers, and others adults who work with teenagers.

Why: To help parents start a dialog with their kids about being smart on social media.

The Strengthening Families Program is offered to Homewood families FREE of charge by IMPACT Counseling. It is a family skills training program designed to increase resilience and reduce risk factors for substance abuse, depression, violence and aggression, delinquency, and school failure.
