After School Tutoring Program

Starting tomorrow, Sept. 15th, HMS Peer Helpers will provide free after school tutoring on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3p-3:30p in room 214 on the 7th grade hall. Any student, grade 6-8, is welcome to come regularly or drop by as needed. The only requirement is that students bring something to work on (homework, classwork, etc.). POST Program

Homewood City Schools is offering a new program this year entitled 'Positive Opportunities in Substance Training' (POST). It is a program designed to help families that have been touched by substance abuse in some way. There is a link to the flyer below, but the general program details are as follows:

• 6 session program--Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6-8 pm
• Location--Pathways School (on the hill behind Homewood High School)
• Appropriate for families with 8th-12th grade students

Please contact your child's school counselor if you have any questions or are interested in this program.

Marijuana: Hashing Out Fact from Fiction Dr. Shannon Murphy Tuesday, August 18, 2015 Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church Tyson Hall 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM   Join Help the Hills and Dr. Shannon Murphy for a frank look at marijuana use: facts vs. fiction, use among teens, recreations vs. medical use, and the physiological impact of marijuana use.

A "TDAP" vaccine is required for all 6th grade students who will be 11 years 

of age or older by the first day of school. Please check with your pediatrician to 

verify whether or not your child has received this immunization. Please bring an 

up-to-date blue immunization card to complete registration.
